BOOKING PROCEDURE
Both markets days are very popular and School holidays are extremely busy. If you want to book a stall you have three options.

1 You can book a stall by calling into the Market office from 2.00 p.m the previous week and paying the appropriate fee.
2 You can telephone the Market office from 2.00 p.m the previous week and pay for a stall using a debit or credit card.
3 You can call into the Market office between 7.00 a.m and 8.30 a.m on the respective day.

All stalls pre-booked must be occupied by no later than 8.30 a.m. Stalls not occupied by this time maybe re-let. Advance bookings fees are not refunded in the case of cancellations.

WHAT CAN YOU SELL?
You can sell both new goods and second hand goods.

WHAT CAN'T YOU SELL?
You can’t sell any food products and you can’t sell BB guns or Knives or any other products that we consider offensive. Counterfeit goods and illegal copies or stolen property are not permitted and any trader found attempting to sell such products will be excluded from the Market without any refund of tolls payable. Furthermore the appropriate authorities will be advised and further action may well be taken by both the Police and Trading Standards. Offensive materials or pornography is not permitted. The ultimate decision as to what is permitted to be sold rests with the Market Manager and his staff.

CHARGES With effect from 01/04/11

REGULAR TRADERS
If you are interested in taking a regular stall you are required to apply for a Second Hand Dealers Licence. The fee is £30.00 and application forms are available from the Market Office. Traders applying for Regular stalls are also required to take out Public Liability Insurance. Advice on Insurance is available at www.preston.gov/markets. All traders are required to attend on a Casual basis initially before consideration is given to offering a regular stall to any trader.

TRADER PARKING
There is no specific trader parking facility for market traders although the following car-parks are located within a short distance of the market. The current full day charges are:

Market Car Park:
Up to 5 hours £4.00, over 5 hours £7.00
Bus Station Car Park
:
Up to 24 hours £4.00

ACCOMODATION AVAILABLE (CAR SPACE or STALL)
We provide two types of accommodation. The first being what we describe as a “Stall” and the second being what we describe as a “Car Space”. With a “stall” you are provided with a flat table measuring either 10ft by 12ft or 9ft by 9ft. You are required to unload you goods onto the appropriate stall and then park your vehicle off the market site. With a “Car Space” you are provided with sufficient room to park a standard saloon car on the market and two tables measuring approximately 10ft by 4ft.

Large market: 12ft x 9ft Small market: 9ft x 9ft The stalls are arranged in a 'U' shape.
