TIMES
Monday, Wednesday and Friday: - Minimum trading hours 9.30am
until 3.45pm. Saturday 9.30am until 4.30pm Advice
Whether this is your first venture into retailing or simply the next stage,
it's worthwhile doing a bit of homework first. We always recommend that you
have a good look around the Market and carefully consider the competition that
you may be facing from existing established traders. Also consider your competitors
in the rest of the town centre. Don't just wander around on a Saturday, when the
town's folk pour into the town centre. Consider the full week, especially the
quieter trading days, like Mondays. If you know another trader on the Market,
seek their advice, especially in relation to where to source your goods. Established
traders have, in many cases years of experience and can often point out the pitfalls.
Market trading or being self-employed is not a guarantee of success. However
if you have the right product, at the right price, with a little luck, you can
go far… look at JJB Sports, Marks and Spencer's and Richard Branson, to name a
few. |
